Wait...episode 29? Maybe we should go back to original numbering and we'd be over 50. Anyways, welcome to yet another edition of the Why I Love Comics podcast. As you'll hear me in the episode, my partners in crime were elsewhere this week and I have gained some newer music recently, so I decided to do another nerdy music episode! Prepare yourselves, listeners, as we jump across the musical multiverse from Electronic (Allcaps) to Rap (Childish Gambino) to acoustic (Amanda Palmer)! It's all here in this very special episode of the Why I Love Comics podcast!
Also, a warning to our more sensitive listeners, there is adult language in this episode.
Welcome to a very special edition of the podcast as we mix things up a bit. I'm joined by longtime friend and returning CR writer Russell Burlingame, freelance artist and part of the Feeding Ground crew Michael Lapinski and joker cosplayer extraordinaire Andre Beshta.
Now for those that don't listen regularly we had two recent shows with the Nerd Girls Eye View and the Feeding Ground crew where I determined that it's fun to have a crew on the show so I decided to let this madness occur. Think of us as a tough crowd/chelsea handler type of podcast. (I'll still be doing the interview episodes as well, I promise!)
In this very episode we discuss our celebrity look alike, the death of Wizard magazine (Russ was once an intern at Wizard and his insights are a great listen), upcoming comic movies and we're also talking about death in comics (Johnny Storm, the Dibny's) and we even cover a bit of Identity Crisis (and our general like of Brad Meltzer). Oh and Russ gives us a little more insight into the Sentry controversy that Wizard helped set up.
Also of note: Future shows will probably just focus on one topic but for this first one we jumped around a lot. Join us on the forums to discuss what we talked about, and definitely give us your thoughts!
Next time the crew gets together, we talk event books and the effects on the average comic reader!

Both are not only my favorite interviews of the con but easily in my opinion the best I've done in my career so far. So sit back, pull up a chair and enjoy the chaos of NYCC this final time as we talk art, discover what is going on with Kill Audio and why Staves and Arrows isn't going anywhere anytime soon!

This was recorded back in june so it may seem a tiny bit out of the loop but it's a fun listen with plenty of information packed in!
Alright so welcome to episode #8! As you can see this clocks in at about 2 hours, the reason being that I combined 2 shows into 1 due to the Christos Gage interview only being a half hour. So in this episode you get:
Christos Gage at a signing with a very fun interview for the first half hour of the show! We talk everything from working with Slott/Ross and his wife to what we can expect from the academy in the future!
Next we have 90 minutes with the NCD creative team as we talk about Champion city, the first collection, wrestling and the dreaded D word as I'm joined by Bill Gladman, Chad Strohl, Brant Fowler and Lisa Moore!
Next show I introduce you listeners to the creators of pocket god! and what their connections to comics are!
What happens when you get David Hine and Shaky Kane together for an interview before their big 3 comic shop tour? Well insanity and hilarity ensued as we talk all about Bulletproof coffin, Doctor Who, how many users are on skype and how many projects Dave is working on right now.
Episode #6 I am joined by good friend, writer and all around great guy Jim McCann. We talk about the early reactions to Hawkeye/Mockingbird, Return of the Dapper Men, what his thoughts are on becoming a freelancer and much much more!
Welcome to episode #5 where there would have been a cold open with yours truly but... still trying to work out the show bugs. Hopefully for shows #7 and #8, we'll see if I can fix the program i'm using.
This week we were joined by the very awesome Fred Van Lente as we talk about Amadeus Cho, working with Greg pak and Jeff Parker, his twittring, his thoughts on Justified and Red Dead Redemption as well as the tease to the project that has since been announced!
Two things I wanted to point out: Mike Galusick was supposed to join me for this episode but sadly Skype seemingly hated both of us and we didn't appear online for each other. I've promised to make it up to him.
Also the teased project has been revealed as a Taskmaster mini! Which definitely has my attention. Also announced was the mini bringing back Hercules and a new incarnation of the god squad starting, I believe, in September! We will certainly be following up with Fred and he may bring someone along. Tune in for that future show.
In this episode I am joined by new friend and very cool fan film creator, Mike Galusik. Mike is the writer, director, producer and originator of the popular Deadpool series of fan film's on YouTube. We talk about his thoughts on Wade's overexposure, the reaction of people to the fan films, what he thinks of Colin Ferrel and just much, much more. Also, as a disclaimer, this is the Deadpool show basically but honestly it's a really strong episode that is worth a listen and Mike is a very talented and opinionated comic fan who makes for a great guest!
In tonight's episode I catch up with good friend and talented artist Joe Eisma! We talk about digital comics, Lost, a few convention stories, the upcoming ongoing Morning Glories series and his love of the Bendis board (the board where Joe and I post regularly can be found here)!
